An Inspiring Day

This past Saturday marked the date of the 2nd Annual NeuroPsychoIdiology Life Coaching Conference. I am pleased with how my lecture went (titled "Re-Nurturing: Ending the Cycle of Disconnected Parenting") and a few people commented after that they really welcomed this topic and the content). The entire conference was such a wonderful event, full of inspiring and "Aha"-moment lectures and workshops. I feel blessed and fortunate to have been a part of this and to have connected with so many like-minded people.

In the evening I also attended The Body Monologues, which was the the community keynote event and which I also presented a monologue at. All I have to say about that is Wow. I never thought I would feel so good after getting up on stage and sharing my story. I was nervous at first, but it all washed away when I started speaking and letting the words flow out. Getting up on stage and also hearing the other participants' monologues was healing and inspiring and created a sense of community and love.

So now I ask you...

Are you carrying a story that needs to be shared for you to heal? A story that might help others feel not so alone?

Visit The Body Monologues website to find out more.

Does this conference sound like something you'd like to attend in the future?

If so, check out he NLCA Conference website and stay tuned for details for next year's event.

I want to thank Mandy (the creator and founder of all of this!) for the opportunity to be a part of these events and for all the amazing work she does!

Are You Doing What You Love?

Back in December I came across this inspiring article: Top Five Regrets of the Dying. {Take two minutes to head over there and read it, I promise is it will be worth it!}

The top 5 regrets expressed by those nearing death, seem so obvious, things that seem so simple to achieve. But, of course nothing is as it seems! We humans are a funny bunch. We become lost in the muddle quite easily and then it's not so easy to get out. We often lose track of what's important in the big picture. And we almost always forget to follow our heart...to find our passion and live our lives doing what makes us happy...from a place of authenticity.

No one does this gig we call life without making mistakes. But in reality, mistakes are lessons which can help us grow...to improve...to become more and to be happier.

If we have the opportunity to learn these very important lessons from those that are now no longer here...I say we go for it!

And there's no shame in asking for help in order to get to a place of authenticity and happiness. Sometimes we just need a little guidance to get us back on track, to get us out of the muddle...to help us see the big picture...and to focus on the things that are truly important to us and to living our lives the way that makes us happy, so we have no regrets in the end!

I have taken this lesson to heart and have made some changes in my life these past couple of months. I have always been passionate about helping people and since becoming a mother six years ago, I have had the dream of working in the Birth Community. With the encouragement of a very dear friend I finally decided to make this dream come true! I am becoming certified as a Labour and Birth Doula through CAPPA Canada. I am so blessed to have the support of my family, and because I am happy, the happiness flows and is reciprocated multiplied! This decision feels right, I can feel the fire of passion within me burning brighter!

Are you doing what you love? Does your 'passion fire' burn bright?

Happy New Year!

It is really amazing to me to be saying that it's the year 2012! It just sounds so surreal. It's exciting! It's also full of potential...

I feel the energy of change around me. And I know many others do too. So many things in our world are near the brink of change...do you have changes on your horizon?

I am excited to take on the year and see what is to come!

I am not one for creating "resolutions"...to me the word resolution is loaded with "settling" and "solving". The word is related to the word "resolve", which means to "settle" or "find a solution to a problem". Having resolutions kind of sets you up to settle, rather than to strive to reach your highest potential. Because of this, I believe in aspirations. This word is full of hope. It is full of inspiration! And when you set an aspiration for yourself, hope and inspiration are your best ally.

So I encourage you to find your aspirations! What inspires you? What makes you feel passionate? What are your dreams?

I have done some soul searching and have decided to make one of my long-held dreams a reality this year....more to come on this a little later! But I am so excited!!!

Lets hop on the 2012 energy bandwagon and make our dreams come true!

Merry Christmas!

Simplify

I recently came across the website: Surviving the World. It has some funny, insightful and sometimes wacky but true bits of wisdom. Check it out.

One of my favs is this picture. It's a great visual of what Life Coaching stands for. Sometimes we are so entrenched in our problem(s) that we just can't see the way out. When you're stuck in the middle of the maze, a Life Coach can help you step back in order for you to find the solution.
